Imagine … a spectacular landscape of isolated mountains with buttresses, cliff faces and unusual geological features, think spectacular gorges, fairytale waterfalls and lush thick forests. I come to "Panorama Route" in the magical Mpumalanga Province of South Africa. The sense of Mpumalanga "The place where the sun rises."

The Panorama route offers travelers a series of spectacular panoramic views to the experience of this Wonderland, and includes views of the Blyde River Canyon (the 3rd largest canyon in the world) and its three Rondavels, God's Window, Pinnacle Rock, Bourke's Luck Potholes and a series of beautiful waterfalls and Mac Mac, Lone Creek and Lisbon Falls. The region also has historical influence and a visit the historic mining town of Pilgrims Rest is a must. Take a walk along the scenic road just watching the restored historic buildings and miners huts, visit the museum To see the relics of mining, stop at the tourist office and take a tour of the experience of living in gold mining hey days and try your hand at washing gold.

Most of the Panorama Route is located in the Highveld. The view from the window of God and Pinnacle Rock look out on how Lowveld below. These 2 areas experience quite different climates. The Lowveld is subtropical, due to its proximity to the warm Indian Ocean and latitude. The Highveld is comparatively much cooler, due to its altitude of 2300 meters to 1700 meters above sea level. The Drakensberg Escarpment receives the most precipitation, with all other areas that are moderately well watered throughout the summer thunderstorms. The Highveld often experiences severe frosts, while the Lowveld is mostly free frost. Winter rainfall is infrequent, except for some showers in the escarpment.

My tip when traveling to South Africa is to combine a 2 nights stay at or near the Panorama Route, with its African safari experience at the world famous Kruger National Park, or private reserves, west of Kruger. Three of game of my absolute favorite luxury lodges are Londolozi Private Game Reserve Savanna Private Game Reserve and Lion Sands Private Game Reserve. These are situated in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve well known for its excellent game vision and, in particular bright leopard sightings.

Now, to bring back their experience of Panorama Route, here is my suggestion would be to stay in the award-winning restaurant and Oliver Lodge. This hostel has built a great name for himself. It is run owner and a cozy away from home. Located in a peaceful golf goods from country to reach the Panorama Route, Kruger National Park and Nelspruit, the international airport closer.

Oliver Lodge Restaurant and luxury rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. Attention to detail is excellent. Personal service is first class. The kitchen is to die for. These combined attributes make it an absolute pleasure to stay here.

Spend the day resting in the pool or generously indulged in your spa. A golf game is right at your doorstep in the White River Golf Club. Outdoor activities are abundant in the region and include quads, Gorge Swinging, rafting, ballooning, scenic helicopter flights, hiking and horseback riding. Obviously with the Kruger National Park is only 25 km away, you can also enjoy the game viewing day in his own vehicle. Pack a picnic lunch and spend the day wandering in the park spotted our fascinating African wildlife.
