Jumeau Doll

Jumeau Company were the finest French dolls makers at the time of the world's largest dolls. The second half of the 19th century was the era golden doll making and France was at its center. The world looks to France as the masters of doll making and their dolls were, and remain, most precious dolls for collectors. The height of the Jumeau arrived in 1860 and 1870. Production techniques had reached its height, the company was innovating and changing their dolls to satisfy the desires of customers and their skills had reached their pinnacle.

Jumeau Dolls and Bisque

In its early days, Jumeau dolls they had made their papier-mache or porcelain. But right now the new material is bisque used in Germany to produce dolls cheaper and faster than was possible that the French, who were still working in porcelain. The head of the company Jumeau, Francois Jumeau, decided that he too must pass to be used to make soup for her dolls in the 1860s. This led to a huge increase in the production of dolls. Each year there was an increase in the number of Jumeau dolls of the company were making an unprecedented number. At this time, Jumeau exported their wrists and become world famous for the quality of their dolls.

Jumeau Bebes enter production

In 1874, Francios Jumeau handed the reins of the company to Émile Louis Jumeau Jumeau. This change came a shift in the design of Jumeau dolls. Until then, I had been doing Jumeau Fashion (or "poupees'). These dolls were made in the image full of older women. Émile Louis Jumeau noticed that more girls would rather play with dolls that look like little more than babies who look like women. As a result of it changed the production outside the poupees and into the new range of Baby Jumeau. Jumeau Bebes were designed to be more like babies (and increasingly moved in that direction, as the passage of time).

The Jumeau Bebes proved a great success and is still massively popular with doll collectors today. Over the Baby dolls, dolls Émile Louis Jumeau Jumeau established as the highest quality and most sought after dolls in the world.
