The infinite variety of Dolls

Imagination plays an important role in growth. Children are fascinated by the "acting" , which is like an adult. Toys play a vital role in this process. Almost anything can be a toy. From sticks and stones at the old socks, if you can imagine, can become a toy.

I suppose that the dolls have been around since before written history. Traditionally a toy that girls have been used for centuries the dolls have played a vital role in the growth process. From learning how to care for a baby to become an executive jet-set, dolls have helped young people to dream about the future.

Like children playing with them, dolls come in all shapes, colors, ages and sizes. There are Barbie, Ken, Cabbage Patch, My Little Pony, American Girl and Bratz dolls, just to name a few. They can be as simple as paper doll cutouts and complex as, and expensive, as detailed porcelain dolls. For children there, let's not forget GI Joe and all those "action figures" (come on guys, admit that in fact are dolls, too!).

As varied as the types of dolls, so are the materials that compose them. The first dolls were made of wood and, later, paper mache. The best porcelain dolls have heads and sometimes hands-articulated wooden bodies. In the early days of the United States Many dolls are made at home. Sew a few old rags together, and you have a new playmate.

Of course, today's dolls are not just for kids. Doll collecting has become a popular pastime for adults and children. There are many categories of collections. Some focus on the ubiquitous Barbie, especially early and now rare editions. Others opt for antique dolls, dolls or specific to a period of time. However collectors other focus on a single manufacturer, the country or style of doll. If you do not want to dig and research, there are many special editions or collector of dolls produced in today.

No discussion of dolls would be complete without a look at the growing hobby of dolls houses and miniatures. This has become a hobby himself. Once again, materials and types are as varied as the Dolls House. A dollhouse can be made by a child from a simple carton. Dolls can also be extended to the exact scale of exact scale homes with furniture, and even the lights completely. Those with limited space may chose to make a picture of "shadow" that meticulously details a room of a home. Would not surprise me if somewhere some fussy with the details built a dollhouse with full working plumbing!

So, if Barbie is jet set around the world, or GI Joe is to save the world if you want to "play" or build an exact scale model of the White House, dolls and accessories can take you wherever your imagination can go. They can make a rainy day go faster, or allow an adult stress out a creative outlet. Anyway you look at the dolls are cool.
